Safe Kids Anson County

Safe Kids Anson County is led by Anson County Partnership for Children, which provides dedicated and caring staff, operation support and other resources to assist in achieving our common goal: keeping your kids safe. Based on the needs of the community, this coalition implements evidence-based programs, such as car-seat checkups, safety workshops, and sports clinics, that help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.

Every year Safe Kids Anson host an event called Safe Kids Day. This event is possible with the partnership with other organizations in the community that also prompts safety.

Child Passenger Safety Diversion Program

Safe Kids Anson County, and the Office of the District Attorney for Anson County, provide a Child Passenger Safety Diversion Program which allows violators of the NC Child Passenger Safety Law (G.S. 20-137.1) the chance to have their safety seats properly installed and their charge dismissed.  Anson County’s District Attorney’s Office recommends that the caregiver complete this class to produce satisfactory proof that violation has been corrected.  During the class, Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians teach caregivers how to install a child’s car seat and observes the caregiver installing a seat in the vehicle.  These classes will help parents understand the proper ways to install child safety seats and help keep Anson County’s children safer.  Classes are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 2 to 4 pm at the Anson County Partnership for Children, 117 South Greene Street, Wadesboro.  Advance registration is required for the class.  The District Attorney has the authority to determine whether or not dismissal is appropriate in each case.

Safe Kids Day 2019

Safe Kids Mock Crash 2019

The goal of a mock crash is to educate teenagers about the tragedy of traffic crashes — and to reinforce the importance of seat belts, paying attention behind the wheel and to show the consequences of drinking and driving. Safe Kids Anson partnered with Anson County High School and local law agencies to make this event possible. It was conducted the week of prom.
